• AP REFERENCE TABLE: AP reference table: As you will notice it is fairly limited. There is a certain amount of material you will need to memorize. Below is the list of Reference Tables from first year chem that must be memorized. The order they are listed in the order they will be quizzed on. You will have one quiz a day starting the first day of school for each of the five topics below.

    1. Names of elements (I will give 40 common ones on the quiz) (table S)

    2. Polyatomic Ions (table E) link1 link2 

    3. Oxidation Rules (and common oxidation numbers)  (periodic table)

    4. Solubility Rules (table F) practice quiz (again some not all-you need to know all)

    5. Compound Identification - Acid, Base, Alcohol, Ionic, or Network Covalent - if none then covalent molecule extralink

    MATERIALS

    • 3 Ring Binder (preferably for chemistry only)

    • Composition Notebook for HW (chemistry only)

    • Scientific Calculator

      • The College Board recommends a graphing calculator

    • Pens/ Pencils

    • Highlighters - 3 colors (at least)

    • Textbook:  Chemistry, Tenth Edition, Zumdahl / Zumdahl, Houghton-Mifflin, 2016
