The John Jay FFA (Future Farmers of America)
FFA, previously known as the Future Farmers of America, is a nationally recognized organization that promotes agricultural education but also career and life skills. We host and attend community and school events that help spread the word about agriculture in our community, state, and country. We compete in two different types of competitions, career development events and leadership development events. They each are used to develop skills in the students that will benefit them as they proceed in their lives. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. We do this by giving students experiences that they wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else. This includes our educational trips to farms in our area to show them how much work goes into farming and the dependance we all have on what we get from farms. We meet every Monday in room 197 and new members are always welcome!
