Dear WCSD Community,

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority in the District. Therefore, I have sent a letter to our NY State legislators in support of proposed legislation that would allow for more accountability when a defendant is accused of making threats of violence against a school district, school, staff, or students.  In our District, such threats have caused substantial disruptions: not only in the form of school delays, closings, and early dismissals, but in the increased need for mental health assistance and local law enforcement support. I believe that we can all agree that our students and staff deserve a safe school environment that allows them to learn, grow, and reach their highest academic, social, and emotional potential. I sincerely hope the members of the NY State legislature will advance this critical legislation.
