Assessment: Student evaluation is reflected in the art grade, a composite of a student’s participation and achievement in assignments and assessments. The grade may be derived from objective and subjective teacher evaluations and observations, including the student’s demonstration of criteria-based skills and techniques in artwork, written critical analysis of artwork, written assignments, and responses to videos and articles.
Assignments: Virtual projects and assignments will be given on a weekly basis. I tend to alternate art making projects (one week) with written assignments, videos, art critiques, articles (alternate weeks) The feedback on this has been favorable as some students prefer art making while others prefer the more historical academic approach (aka art appreciation).
