• Parents/Guardians - Please read your child's written entries in the Reader's Notebook, often, to make sure all parts are appropriate along with at a level that you feel represents your child's best effort.  In ELA, the teacher will not read every part of the written entries in the notebook.  The teacher will check to see that the student is writing these entries in class.

Students will utilize the Reader's Notebook as a place for written expression, skill development, opportunities to follow the writing process, and rehearsal for future final drafts.  Each entry will have a title and the date the entry was created.  Students can write sentences, paragraphs, essays, poems, plays, articles, create detailed illustrations, graphic organizers, word trees, lists, first drafts and any other form of appropriate writing.
