What is CTE?
Parent Fact Sheet About CTEThe Career & Technical Education Business Pathway at WCSD Consists of 3.5 Credits. Students must complete
- College & Career Planning
- Money Management
- Virtual Enterprise (earns 6 credits from SUNY Farmingdale) OR Work-Based Learning
For the Business Administration & Management Pathway, students would also take
- Microsoft Office
- Business Ownership
- Pass the Precision Exam: Exploring Business and Marketing
For the Computer/Information Technology Services Pathway, students would also take
- Computer Game Design
- Mobile App Development
- AP Computer Science (can earn college credit)
- Pass the Precision Exam: Exploring Computer Science
To earn the CTE Endorsements, students must also complete the
- Complete the Employability Profile
- Add pass the exam listed above.
Either of the CTE Business Pathways will earn students an endorsement on their diploma. Students completing one of the two pathways will choose to take and pass the four core Regents exams in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, pass the appropriate Precision Exam and complete the Employability Profile to earn a Regents diploma.
