    Welcome to Second Grade! 
     
    We have an exciting year ahead and I am looking forward to meeting our classroom family! Our grade level will be having a meet and greet as a chance to meet you and your child in person before school starts. This is also an opportunity for you to drop off school supplies so that there is less to worry about on the first day of school. This will be on Thursday, August 29th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. I have attached a sign-up sheet with the allotted times. Please click on this link and select an available time that works best for you. Type your child's first name in the box. When you arrive at the school, you can find our classroom, Room 108, on the ground-level floor. If you enter the main entrance of the school, turn left down the hallway and my classroom is located on the right side of the hallway. (My classroom was moved from upstairs to downstairs so please excuse the set up - I will still be organizing my new room. You will have a better idea of what the classroom will fully look like on Parents as Partners night.) 
     
    Attached is a copy of the second grade school supply list. Please put your child's first name and last initial on only the following items: folders, notebook, whiteboard, headphones, scissors, supplycase, and clipboard. All other items do not need your child's name.
     
    Please label the folders as follows:
    Red - Math
    Blue - Writing 
    Yellow - Phonics
    Purple - Reading
    Green - Science/Social Studies
    Free Choice - Home
     
    I will be using Class Dojo as our main communication platform this year. Please use this invitation link to access our classroom's Class Dojo. Once you have clicked the link, please select your child's name. I will be notified that you selected your child's name and then approve your access. Once you gain access, please download the Class Dojo app and turn on notifications so we will be able to communicate throughout the school year. I also post reminders/updates to Class Dojo throughout the year. I am also available by email: reneelynn.alexander@wcsdny.org.
