Hello students and families!

I am so excited to welcome you all to our kindergarten classroom! Room 5 is in Integrated Co-taught classroom (ICT) which means that you have two teachers! How lucky is that?! I am a Special Education teacher and I teach alongside Mrs. Newman, who is the General Education teacher in the classroom. 

Let me tell you a little about myself! I have been a teacher for many years but only started teaching in public school in 2022. This is my first year here at Vassar Road, and I am so excited! I have my Masters in Elementary and Special Education, and I am certified to teach from birth up through high school, but primary grades are my favorite! Wappingers holds a special place in my heart as I was a student in the district from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade, graduating from John Jay High School.

I am a mom to my three beautiful children, who also attend schools in the Wappingers district. I have one in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary school! When I am not at school, I love spending time with my husband and children, doing all kinds of fun things. We love to go camping, take vacations (Lake George and Disney are our favorites), bake, do arts and crafts and go to the movies! Over the summer, I also run an arts and crafts summer camp through the district that any student in kindergarten through 6th grade can sign up for! I will share more information about that when it gets closer!

Some more facts about me! My birthday is February 11th and my favorite color is pink! I have a couple of favorite foods. I love tacos and pizza and all kinds of fruits! My favorite animal is the slow loris and my favorite subject is science!
