• Congratulations to Angie Odeniyi, Abby Kowalczyk and Connor Hitt for qualifying for the State Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 2nd. Angie Odeniyi placed second with a new personal best and school record in the weight throw. Abby finished second in the 3,000 meter run with a season’s best time.  In the 1,600 meter run, Connor finished second as well with a seasonal best. Just missing out on an opportunity to compete in the State Meet was Sabrina Schmitt who finished 5th over all in the 300 meter dash. Sabrina broke her school record, not just once, but twice! RCK athletes keep performing their best at the end of the season when it counts the most!

Congratulations to the girls team for finishing in 3rd at the Class AA meet at the Armory. Abby Kowalczyk led the way by winning the girls 3,000-meter run. She then followed that up by anchoring the 4x800 meter relay team (Elizabeth Delrosso, Aubrey Lawler, Morgan Lacasse) to a second-place finish. Another week and another set of outstanding performances by Sabrina Schmitt who took fourth in the 55-meter dash with a personal best, and then came back to finish second in the 300-meter dash with a new school record! Angie Odeniyi placed second in the shot put as well as fourth in the weight throw.
Connor Hitt continued his winning ways by taking the 1,000-meter and 1,600-meter runs. In the latter race, he stunned the competition with a come-from-behind win over the final 40 meters. Austin Deler took third in the long jump with a personal best mark. One other notable performance was Isaac Menjivar’s fourth-place finish in the 3,200-meter run with a huge improvement from his previous best.
Overall, over one-half of the performances were personal and/or season bests! Great job everyone!

in the 400 meter dash as well. Connor Hitt set a personal best in the Invitational 2-mile run and also just missed breaking the school record. The night finished off with the sophomore quartet of Matt Kowalczyk, George Soyka, Adam Gazal and Isaac Menjivar breaking the freshman/sophomore record in the 4x800m relay. Good job boys!

    MID-HUDSON WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

Raheem Adebola wrestled tough. Winning 4 out of 5 matches at the Mid-Hudson Wrestling Tournament in December. First match of day 2 was against the number 1 ranked 285 pound wrestler in the section. Marlon Wheatley from Ossining.  Raheem and Marlon went into overtime where Raheem would win by 1 point and move on.

Tough opponents throughout, Raheem found himself in position to wrestle for 3rd or 4th place.  This is where he met Marlon again to wrestle for 3rd place.  Raheem gave EVERYTHING he had and took Marlon down in OVERTIME to win by 2 points.

This was Raheem's 1st wrestling tournament of his career and his 1st time placing in the most difficult tournament of the year.

Super proud and what a great day for Ketcham Wrestling.

RCK Varsity Girls Basketball competed in the KSA  2023 Holiday Basketball Tournament in Orlando, Florida. They reached the finals but came up short against Dupont High School from Kentucky. The team had a great showing in the 3-day tourney!

Congratulations to Abby Kowalczyk and Connor Hitt for placing 1st and 2nd, respectively, at the Section 1 State Qualifier Meet at Bowdoin Park. They will both represent Ketcham at the State Meet at Vernon-Verona-Sherill HS.
Both Abby and Connor achieved personal bests on the famed course, which are also course bests for RCK.

Although the rest of the athletes failed to qualify, the season ended on a high note for most by achieving a personal best for the course.  Great job!
