RCK alum Victor Battista will perform in the American Virtuoso International Music Competition Winners Recital at Carnegie Hall on January 7, 2024. The Class of 2016 graduate is an accomplished clarinetist.
The American Virtuoso International Music Competition (AVIMC) stands as a beacon of musical excellence, proudly organized by the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the American Society of Musical Excellence.

Cavaccini WINS Wappinger Town Supervisor post
Congratulations to RCK Alum Joseph Cavaccini who was elected Supervisor of the Town of Wappinger!
Joey Cavaccini ('17), Dutchess County Legislator and Wappinger Town Historian, was selected by an overwhelming majority of the Town of Wappinger Republican Committee as the candiate for Town Supervisor in the 2023 election.
Cavaccini, who also serves as a legislative aide to the town of Pawling, was elected to the county's 15th district in 2019. He started his public service career at the age of 12 in 2012 when he was appointed to his position within the Office of Town Historian for the Town of Wappinger. This appointment made him the youngest person to be appointed to a post within a municipal historian's office in New York State, as well as the youngest official to serve in a public capacity in the State.

Tyler Adams ('17) was selected as captain of the US Men's Soccer Team for the 2022 World Cup. He was later named as US Men's Soccer Player of the Year.
Rachel Leahy ('11) recognized for saving athlete's life
Leahy the senior associate athletic trainer at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week on January 9, 2023 after her pivotal response to a life-threatening injury on the ice. She has served at West Point since July 2019. Prior to that, she was a trainer at the University of Wyoming and served with the Cowboys from 2016-18.
Leahy graduated from Quinnipiac University and was also a Division I athlete on the acrobatics and tumbling team for four years.
Katie Wall ('19) continues to shine at Mercy College
Wall, who was the first basketball player in Dutchess County to score 2000 points, has continued to make history playing at Mercy College. From the Mercy College Mavericks site:
2021-22: Named First Team All-ECC and First Team All-Met… Tabbed ECC Player of the Week twice (1/18, 11/22)… Named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention once (1/18)… Named to ECC Honor Roll twice (12/6, 11/15)… Appeared in 27 games making 27 starts… Averaged 16.0 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 2.4 steals and 4.4 assists per game… Ranked fourth in ECC in points per game and second in assists and steals per game… Ranked fifth in ECC in threes made (59) and was second in ECC in free throws made (86)… Had 11 games with 20 or more points and scored in double figures in all but six games… Scored a career-high 28 points in the win over UDC on January 15th and had a career-high 13 rebounds in the win at Bridgeport on December 19th.

Ryan Murphy '17 Named High-A West Pitcher Of The Month
milb.com September 3, 2021 - The Minor League strikeout leader becomes the second Emerald to win High-A West Player of the MonthEmeralds RHP Ryan Murphy has been named the High-A West’s Pitcher of the Month for the month of August.
Murphy, a fifth-round pick (114th overall) in the 2020 MLB Draft out of Le Moyne College (NY), was called up to the Ems on July 29 after going 4-2 in 15 starts with Low-A San Jose, posting a 2.96 ERA and tallying an astounding 116 strikeouts in 76.0 innings of work.
He departed San Jose as the Low-A West leader in ERA (2.96), strikeouts (116) and innings pitched (76.0).
Upon his arrival in the Emerald Valley, the right-hander picked up right where he left off in San Jose. In five August starts with the Emeralds, Murphy went 2-2 with a 1.65 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 27.1 innings of work. His 40 K’s in the month of August ranked first in all of High-A.
As of this release, Murphy leads all of Minor League Baseball in strikeouts this season (156). In fact, the San Francisco farm system currently has three of the top seven strikeout getters in all of MiLB:
