September 2023
Dear Students and Parents:
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to my 7th graders and welcome back my 8th graders to Wappingers Junior High School. This is my 29th year teaching Italian for the Wappingers Central School District. I have taught Spanish and English as a new language as well as Italian. I am a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a major in elementary education, Spanish and Italian. I continued my master’s degree at SUNY NEW paltz in English as a new language.
Italian is a subject area that incorporates lesson plans in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I am really looking forward to the upcoming school year, helping students accomplish new challenges in Italian. I feel that a positive learning experience is built on a collaborative effort among parents, students, and teachers. I welcome your questions and concerns as the year progresses.
I have great expectations for students in my Italian class. One of the biggest things is to help students want to be responsible for completing assignments and having positive interactions with me and each other.
It is my goal for all of my students to experience success and to foster a love of Italian. I am thrilled to work with you and your child over the course of the school year. If questions or concerns should arise, please feel free to email me at rita.fava@wcsdny.org or call me anytime at 845-298-5200. I look forward to working with you this year.
Sincerely,
Signora Fava
