    Math Fluency  
    Being familiar with numbers, math facts, counting, and patterns will help your child build the foundation that is needed to ensure that he or she will be successful in second grade math.  Use these interactive math games to help your child become more fluent in math.  
     
    Number Patterns
     
     Bubble Skip Counting 
    Count by twos, threes, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, eights, nines, and tens to one hundred by popping the bubbles and putting numbers in order.  As you get more fluent, try a different number.   
     
     
    Balloon Pop Skip Counting
    What's more fun than popping balloons?  Count by twos,  threes, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, eights, nines, and tens.  Pop the balloons to continue the pattern.  
     

    Fruit Skip Counting 
    A little more advanced than Balloon Pop and Bubble Skip Counting, Fruit Skip Counting gives children an opportunity to fill in the missing number in a pattern as fruit displaying different numbers bounces around the screen.

    Answer an addition fact correctly and your runner will move ahead.   Just as the game goes, three strikes and you're out.  Try and score as many runs as you can.  This game can be played to practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. Use the easy level for facts or challenge yourself with higher levels in which you may have to regroup.  Keep a pencil and paper handy if you choose to challenge yourself.  
     
     
    Number Bonds
    Make number bonds adding up to ten.  This is incredibly important for what's ahead in second grade.  Know these well and future topics will be much easier.

    Practice your facts by choosing from a variety of games.  The better you are at your math facts the easier it will be to understand future topics in second grade.

    Very similar to the addition version, these subtraction games will help you get to know your subtraction facts.  The better you know these, the easier it will be when more complex topics are introduced late on in second grade.

    Fun for the Brain Multiplication Games
    Similar the addition and subtraction games, get to know your multiplication facts with this variety of games.  Make sure that you can skip count well before working on multiplication.  If you're having difficulty here practice some of the skip counting games before continuing.   
     
     
     
    Practice Telling Time
     
     
     
     Stop the Clock
    Read analog clocks and match the digital time.  Drag the digital times as fast as you can and stop the clock.  Keep trying to beat your own personal best score.  Level 1 focuses on times to the hour and the half hour such as 1:00 and 1:30.  Once you have mastered that move on to levels 2 and 3 to start telling time in five minute increments.  When you have mastered that you can try level four.  Second graders should be able to master levels 2 and 3.   
     
      
     On Time
     
    Practice telling time by moving the hour hand and the minute hand of a clock.  When you master level one, move on to level two.  Then try levels three and four.  Good luck!
