    Readers' Workshop - The Lucy Calkins Reading Units are introduced in kindergarten.  The children participate in Reader's Workshop which includes: Shared Reading, Interactive Read Aloud, Guided Reading, Phonemic Awareness and Phonics.  The units the children will participate in include: Unit 1 - We Are Readers, Unit 2 - Super Powers: Reading with Print Strategies, Unit 3 - Bigger Books, Bigger Reading Muscles, Unit 4 - Becoming Avid Readers. 
     
    Writer's Workshop  - The students in kindergarten follow the Lucy Calkins Writer's Workshop Model.  The children participate in many writing experiences, which include interactive writing, shared writing and independent writing.  The units the children will be exposed to include:  Unit 1 - Launching: We Are Writers", If Then Unit Show and Tell From Labels to Pattern Books, Unit 2 -Narrative Writing, Unit 3 - Informational Writing, Unit 4 - Opinion Writing.
     
     
    Math - For our Mathematics Curriculum we use I-Ready.  Students learn to use model drawings to visualize and solve problems through mathematical reasoning and critical thinking.  Aligned with the Next Generation Standards for Mathematical Practice, students use appropriate tools to persevere in problem solving.

    Science - Science 21 - The Science 21 Curriculum Project envisions that science classrooms will foster a learning environment where all students learn the practices, the core idea, and crosscutting concepts of science and engineering to become independent and collaborative, problem-solvers, and self-directed learners in their present and future lives.
